My goal as a tutor is to inspire my students to perform at their best level by boosting their skills and confidence. As a former English teacher in middle and high school, I have experience working with many types of students and with many types of learning styles. I can help students who wish to bring their writing to the next level or help to motivate students who are reluctant writers and readers, and everyone in between. The one-to-one tutoring environment provides me with the opportunity to assist students in developing their critical reading by teaching students how to properly analyze and actively engage with texts. I can also work with students on grammatical structures and organizing their writing. I work with my students throughout the entire writing process to brainstorm their ideas, write the initial draft, and to produce a final copy. I teach my students how to do the work themselves, and I avoid becoming their editor or the one who "fixes" their writing. I am interested in working with students in a variety of English related subjects. I have attended Holy Names University. I enjoy working with both domestic and wild animals in my spare time.
